For this client, we were tasked to design a contemporary take on a Shaker kitchen. The customer said that he wanted a range cooker, but was not a fan of the gaps that result either side of the appliance.
In facilitate this we decided to make a 'built in' range cooker set up. We achieved this by using units with tray drawers that contained 2 Siemens built in single ovens and had space above to install a gas hob. This gave the customer all the functionality of a range without interrupting the run of units. The door is Rational Casa in Vino, which gives the appearance of a traditional shaker, but has no joint lines between the panels, giving a cleaner look. The inclusion of Silestone grey worktops allowed us to use Stainless Steel as the accent colour on the splashback and the Miele appliances.
2 false walls were built to create a recess for the Rangemaster fridge and we framed this with pull out and shelved larder units. A niche was also cut into one of the walls and filled with shelving made from the worktop to create a stylish display area and a Lemans corner unit was set into the other false wall to maximise the use of the space either side of the tall unit bank.
